Khrabrovo Airport (Russian Аэропорт Храброво) is located north of Kaliningrad, east of the Zelenogradsk highway, near the village of Khrabrovo. Part of the airport is still a military base of the Russian Air Force. ==History== * 1922 - Joint Russian-German joint venture Deruluft starts flights on first scheduled international route, from Königsberg (Devau airport) - Moscow * 1945 - Airport is transferred to Civil Air Fleet of USSR * 1961 - Joint Air Squadron formed at the basis of airport and airline * 1977 - Operations of Tupolev-134 begin * 1979 - Passenger terminal is built in Khrabrovo * 1988 - Tupolev-154s begin operations to Kaliningrad * 1992 - Enterprise separates from Vnukovo Production association and becomes independent entity * 1993 - First scheduled international flights begin. Two Tupolev-154s are purchased * 1997 - Air enterprise is renamed “Kaliningrad Avia” * 2001 - Air enterprise is in receivership * 2002 - Change of ownership structure.
